We are pleased to welcome Krystal Boehlert, the new Digital Collections Librarian, to our Clark Library team. Krystal comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Her passion for photography launched her into the world of image management at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where she received a BFA degree in Photography – Visual Media. Having had enough of the cold winters and a with a desire to further her studies, Krystal came back to southern California for her MA in Art Criticism & Theory at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Additionally, she holds an MLIS from San Jose State University. She comes to us from UC Riverside where she managed digital collections projects at the University Library after spending time managing digital collections in the Department of the History of Art. Prior to UCR, she worked at The Getty Museum creating image metadata for six years. Krystal is excited to build our inaugural digital asset management system. Adding to the reproduction request system that Scott Jacobs leads, Krystal will begin setting up workflows and systems to manage our digital collections in a programmatic way, adding structure to what Scott has already built and preparing digitized or born-digital content for online access. When not deep in the archives or swimming in spreadsheets, Krystal can be found hiking, gardening, cooking, and baking.
