Often referred to by colleagues as a musician's musician\, he is consistently cited worl dwide for his phenomenal technique\, soulful approach\, and insightful int erpretations.\n\nHighlights of Mr. Hadelich’s 2022/23 season include r eturn engagements with The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Boston Symphony\ , as well as the U.S. premiere of a new violin concerto written for him by Irish composer\, Donnacha Dennehy\, to be performed by the Oregon Symphon y this fall. Highlights abroad are residencies with the Seoul Philharmonic and notably the WDR/Cologne\, which includes many major festivals\, as we ll as the Proms/London. He is scheduled to be Artist-in-Residence at the K onzerthaus Berlin in 2023/24\, in addition to several extensive tours in E urope over the next two seasons. He will make his debut with the Sydney Sy mphony in Australia this fall.\n\nAugustin Hadelich has appeared with eve ry major orchestra in North and South America\, including the Boston Symp hony\, Chicago Symphony\, Cleveland Orchestra\, Los Angeles Philharmonic\, New York Philharmonic\, Philadelphia Orchestra\, San Francisco Symphony\, L’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal\, and the Symphony Orchestra of S ão Paulo (OSESP) in Brazil\, among many others.\n\nBeyond the Americas\,  Mr. Hadelich has created an impressive presence on multiple continents. A Warner Classics Artist\, his most recent relea se is a Grammy-nominated double CD of the Six Solo Sonatas and Partitas of Johann Sebastian Bach. One of Germany’s most prestigious newspapers\, t he Süddeutsche Zeitung\, boldly stated: “Augustin Hadelich is one of th e most exciting violinists in the world. This album is a total success.” \n\nA new CD featuring Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and the Britten Violin Concerto with the WDR/Cologne conducted by Cristian Măcelaru will be released this year. Other CDs for Warner Classics include Paganini’s 24 Caprices (2018)\; the Brahms and Ligeti violin concertos with the Norw egian Radio Orchestra under Miguel Harth-Bedoya (2019)\; and Bohemian Tal es\, including the Dvořák Violin Concerto with the Bavarian Radio Orches tra conducted by Jakub Hrůša (2020). He has also recorded discs of the v iolin concertos of Tchaikovsky and Lalo (Symphonie espagnole) with the Lon don Philharmonic Orchestra on the LPO label (2017)\, and a series of relea ses on the AVIE label\, including a CD of the violin concertos by Jean Sib elius and Thomas Adès (Concentric Paths)\, with Hannu Lintu conducting th e Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (2014).\n\nBorn in Italy\, the so n of German parents\, Augustin Hadelich is now an American citizen. He h olds an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School\, where he was a student of Joel Smirnoff. Winner of the Gold Medal at the 2006 International Violi n Competition of Indianapolis\, other distinctions include an Avery Fisher Career Grant (2009)\; a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in the UK (2011 )\; the Warner Music Prize (2015)\; a Grammy Award (2016)\; an honorary do ctorate from the University of Exeter in the UK (2017)\; and Musical Amer ica’s "Instrumentalist of the Year" (2018).
