DESCRIPTION:All Chamber Music at the Clark tickets will be sold by the UCLA
  Central Ticket Office. Tickets may be purchased online\, via telephone\, 
 or in person. \nTicket prices: General $60\; Senior (age 55+) $50\; UCLA 
 student (valid student ID required for each ticket) $15. Tickets are non-r
 efundable.\nTickets for this concert will go on sale Tuesday\, September 2
 2\, 2026 at 12:00 noon.\nSeating at the Clark Library is limited\, and tic

 3\n\nQuatuor Danel\nMarc Danel\, violin\nGilles Millet\, violin\nVlad Bogd
 anas\, viola\nYovan Markovitch\, cello\n\nCelebrated for its bold and vibr
 ant performance style\, the Quatuor Danel has been a prominent force on th
 e international classical music scene for over thirty years. The ensemble 
 is acclaimed for its deeply personal interpretations of string quartet cyc
 les by Haydn\, Beethoven\, Schubert\, Shostakovich\, and Weinberg. Their r
 ecordings\, particularly of Shostakovich and Weinberg\, have received inte
 rnational accolades and defined the group’s benchmark achievements.\n\nT
 he Quartet’s 2023–24 North American tour included appearances with Asp
 ect Chamber Music Series\, Peoples’ Symphony Concerts\, Music Toronto\, 
 Chamber Music in Oklahoma\, and McGill International String Quartet Academ
 y. They also perform regularly across Europe and Asia\, with recent engage
 ments in France\, Germany\, Portugal\, Taiwan\, and Japan.\n\nUniquely\, t
 he Quartet has worked closely with Irina Shostakovich and the late Valenti
 n Berlinsky (Borodin Quartet)\, refining their profound approach to Russia
 n repertoire. Their recent Shostakovich quartet cycle\, recorded at Gewand
 haus Leipzig and released on Accentus\, has received widespread praise.\n\
 nThe Quartet was the first to record the complete quartets of Mieczysław 
 Weinberg and continues to champion his music alongside works by major cont
 emporary composers including Sofia Gubaidulina\, Wolfgang Rihm\, and Jörg
  Widmann.\n\nRecent recording projects include Tchaikovsky’s quartets\, 
 Franck’s Piano Quintet with Paavali\nJumppanen\, and plans for a full Be
 ethoven cycle set for release in 2027 with Accentus and the\nGewandhaus Le
 ipzig.\n\nA strong advocate for young musicians\, Quatuor Danel has served
  as artist-in-residence at the\nUniversity of Manchester since 2005\, wher
 e it regularly teaches and mentors emerging string quartets.\n\n\n\nChambe
