and its later economic challenges and ongoing revitalization\, West Adams
provides a fascinating window into Los Angeles history.\n\nThis small gro

l and philanthropic organizations that have been headquartered here.\n\nTh
e tour covers three miles on city sidewalks and streets with two short uph
ill sections. Walkers should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appr
opriately for the weather. Participants may also want to bring water\, a h
at and/or umbrella\, and sunscreen. Children twelve and up are welcome whe
n accompanied by an adult. The tour takes approximately two hours.\nThis t
our is curated and led by Don Pestana\, a native of Southern California an
d a retired educator. He has a love for hiking\, history\, and urban and n
ature exploration. He spends his winters walking all over L.A. and leading
tours for the Los Angeles Conservancy. He spends his summers at a High Si
erra summer camp introducing children to the joys of wilderness backpackin
g.\n\n\n\n\nThis tour is free to attend. Attendance is limited to 12 parti
