I am very pleased to announce that the Clark Library has hired Derek Quezada Meneses as Head Librarian, effective March 31, 2025. Derek brings to the role a wealth of experience in special collections and rare books librarianship. Having worked as a graduate student assistant in 2009-2010, Derek is no stranger to the Clark Library, As Head Librarian, Derek is responsible for the overall planning, policies and procedures of the library including security, and the maintenance and upgrade of the property. Derek will be working with the Director to provide strategic leadership and with the Clark’s librarians in collection development and digital initiatives, programming and instruction, preservation, fundraising, and research and technical services.
He is looking forward to reintegrating the Clark Library fellows into the programming of the library, working with faculty, and creating a sustainable and consistent series of projects that are integrated into larger programs. Derek has ideas for various experiential laboratories exploring book arts, digital forensics, and early modern daily life that will bring together the library, the grounds, and resident and visiting scholars.
Please join me in welcoming Derek to the Clark!
