The Clark Library Acquisitions Salon

Join us at the UCLA William Andrews Clark Memorial Library for the Acquisitions Salon, an afternoon reception showcasing over sixty recent additions to the collections. This annual gathering offers a rare opportunity to encounter a wide selection of books, manuscripts, and archival materials acquired over the past year. Clark librarians will be in attendance to speak about the materials on view, highlight both familiar and lesser-known strengths of the collection, and a vision for how it is evolving.

Guests are invited to view the materials up close in the Drawing Room and engage directly with the intellectual and material life of our collections. A conservator will be available to offer insight into the care required to sustain rare books and manuscripts over time. Attendees will have the opportunity to support our work through sponsorship of acquisitions or preservation efforts, with recognition provided through custom archival enclosures and commemorative bookplates. Guests will depart with a deeper sense of the richness of the Clark Library’s treasures and the role they can play in shaping its future.

This event is free to attend and will be held in-person at the Clark Library. Capacity is limited at the Clark Library; walk-in registrants are welcome as space permits.
